If you loved Shirley Valentine you will adore My Brilliant Divorce!
My Brilliant Divorce, by Geraldine Aron, is the radiantly witty and warm personal account of Angela. Dumped by her husband for a younger model, we follow her achingly funny story as she fumbles through the days and the dating scene, rediscovering herself and hoping to find the love of her life!
A smash hit for Dawn French, on the West End, Genevieve Lemon (Sweetie, Steaming) stars in the Australian Premiere production of an irresistibly funny “stand up tragedy!”
“An irresistible twinkle; great directness, warmth and humour. A lovely play that shines”
London Times
The talented Genevieve boasts an outstanding body of work in stage, screen and television. She is lauded for her brilliant portrayal in the title role in Jane Campion’s film Sweetie, and in the theatrical production of Steaming. Genevieve has regularly featured as a performer in Sydney, Melbourne and Queensland Theatre Company productions (Hanging Man, Summer of The Seventeenth Doll, Brilliant Lies); is a renowned writer and cabaret star (Three Men and a Baby Grand; Lone Star Lemon) and is known internationally for her film and television work: The Piano; Holy Smoke; Neighbours, Prisoner, Always Greener.
Director Gary Down rejoins the HIT team (director Talking Heads, 2002) bringing a wealth of talent and experience from his extensive career across Australia, N.Z. and the U.K. Most recently seen in the MTC’s production of Urinetown, Gary is known to audiences from Guys & Dolls and Sweet Charity and as the director of smash hits Steaming and Lend Me A Tenor.
Lighting Designer and creative collaborator is Ean Grieve (Buzz Dance, Black Swan Theatre)
In 2004, Producer Christine Harris and HIT Productions will be presenting over 41 weeks of touring across Australia, proudly taking their place as one of the leading theatrical touring companies in the country.
